All THAT WEST TEXAS HAS TO OFFER
CHECK OUT THESE LINKS
Not many visitors know that there is more beauty to be found in West Texas. Aside from the famous Marfa Lights, there is the cute, quaint town of Fort Davis, and just pass there you can drive into the Davis Mountains. Hop onto the Davis Mountains Scenic Loop, where, if you didn’t know any better, you’d think you took a wrong turn and ended up in Colorado! We urge everyone who comes to this area to venture out a bit more, and head NW of the Big Bend and find these other beauties that are hidden in West Texas. If these recommendations don’t suit your fancy, then here are a few links to help you plan day trips that don’t involve the Big Bend.

Terlingua International Cook Off – 2023
Each year on the first Saturday of November, CASI holds the ultimate celebration of Chili. This granddaddy of all chili cook-offs is held at Rancho CASI de los Chisos in Terlingua, Texas. Rancho CASI is located on the North side of Highway 170, eleven miles West of Study Butte and 7 miles East of Lajitas. CASI was the original host for the 1967 Terlingua Chili Championship and continues the tradition.
